Burgas will host the European University Debating Championship

From 20 to 25.08.2023, Burgas will host the European University Debating Championship – the biggest debating championship in Europe in which more than 560 university students from all prestigious universities in our continent will participate. Our city will host the event after competing with London, Dublin, Amsterdam, Munich, and St. Petersburg!

In the championship, there will be over 240 teams from all over Europe, and many significant topics will be discussed.

The format of the championship will be the one of the British Parliament. Therefore, the team which presents the most logical arguments will win the debate.

Nikolay Angelov and Rumen Marinov, who were finalists in the World Universities Debating Championship in Madrid, will be part of the organizers of the event. They have won debates against representatives of Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Cambridge, and Oxford.

The championship was organized by the Bulgarian Debating Association, Burgas Municipality, the Burgas Free University, the Burgas Regional Inspectorate of Education, the International Youth Center, and “Aleksandur Georgiev-Kodjakafaliyata” School.
