Sports clubs have the opportunity to apply with projects for the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ program “Sport for Children at Risk” for organizing and conducting sports activities in 2024.
The program is aimed at supporting the social integration, adaptation, and full realization in public life of children at risk by creating conditions and opportunities for their participation in free sports activities with the goal of improving their quality of life, increasing their physical activity, and mental well-being.
Implementers can be sports clubs that are members of licensed sports federations. The requirement is that not less than 50% of the children in each group should be identified as children at risk. Please note that for all children at risk included in the projects, a document must be provided, for example, from the Municipal Directorate of “Social Support,” Regional Education Offices, homes for children without parental care, schools, and/or other documents issued by institutions with authority under the Child Protection Act related to the identification of children at risk.
Sports clubs and their coaches are given the opportunity to provide free sports activities for a period of 6 months, 2 or 3 times a week, according to the children’s preference sport.
The deadline for project applications under the program is 5:30 PM on November 15, 2023. The date of submission is considered the date of the project’s incoming number received when it is entered into the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ registration, regardless of the method of submission – in person, by courier, or by mail.
Sample application and reporting documents for 2024 are published on the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ website under the “Programs” section, program “Sport for Children at Risk” 2024.
