📰 The Factcheck.bg fact-checking platform announces the opening of applications for the second national fact-checking academy. The focus will be on the civil sector – regional journalists, journalism teachers and students, representatives of non-governmental and civil organizations. Representatives of national media can also participate in the academy.

📌 The training is developed by fact-checking experts from Factcheck.bg, in collaboration with representatives from the American institute for media research “Poynter.”

🔎 The aim of the training is to prepare journalists from regional media and active members of the civil sector to recognize and counter disinformation. Expectations are for them to contribute to the work of their media and organizations and to continue to interact with each other in a fact-checking network.

🔎 The training includes basic principles and working with modern fact-checking tools. During the training, participants will work on real fact-checking cases. After its completion, they will have the opportunity to continue working on their fact-checks under the guidance of Factcheck.bg trainers.

🔎 Fact-checks that meet the quality criteria of Factcheck.bg will be published and shared by the platform.
