Invited to participate in the national competition for visual art dedicated to climate change are all students with creative thinking, an interest in science, and care for the environment. Students living in Bulgaria, aged 15 to 18, can take part in the competition.

The artwork should reflect the challenges existing in the environment around you (school, village, city, family, etc.) or opportunities for positive solutions.

You can present unusual manifestations of climate change on the environment – such as atmospheric warming, climate variations, planet pollution, endangered biological species, deforestation.

Submissions can be in the form of a short video clip up to 2 minutes long or a photo up to 5 MB with a description.

A jury of students will select the winners and runners-up in each of the two categories. There will also be an audience vote. The winners will be awarded during the opening of the European Researchers’ Night, which will take place on September 29, 2023.

How to participate?

Record and publish your creative project on Instagram and send the link to, citing in the subject field – For the “SEARCH Instagram Looking Glass 2023” competition.

In the email, include:

  • Name and surname;
  • Project title, brief description;
  • Contacts: email address, phone number, postal address;
  • Age and school.

Deadline for submitting projects: September 18, 2023.

The competition is part of the SEARCH project (Science + Environment + Art = Sustainability for the European Researchers’ Night).
