🏅 Excellent performance by the students of “Kyokushin Spirit” Karate Club – Burgas, under the guidance of their coach, world kata champion Sensei Gergana Apostolova-Kostova. The Burgas karatekas won nine gold, three silver, and four bronze medals at the event held on September 23 and 24. The initiative for the competition came from the representative of IKO for Turkey – Sensei Omer Duran. Around 260 participants from seven countries took part in the event.

The IKO-Bulgaria team had 39 participants, including 13 representatives from the Burgas club. The second day of the competition started with a seminar led by Shihan Emil Kostov. The Bulgarian team achieved exceptional success, winning 17 gold, 11 silver, and 12 bronze medals at the “3rd Esat Delihasan International Kyokushin Cup” in Bursa, Turkey.

🥋 Gergana Yaneva (Girls) – 1st place kumite up to 60 kg;

🥋 Mitko Mitkov (Youth Men) – 1st place kumite over 70 kg and 3rd place kata;

🥋 Patrick Bigel (Youth Men) – 1st place kumite up to 40 kg and 3rd place kata;

🥋 Ivan Pavlovski (Youth Men) – 2nd place kumite up to 75 kg and 2nd place kata;

🥋 Igor Peychev (Youth Men) – 2nd place kumite up to 40 kg;

🥋 Nadezhda Petkova (Youth Women 10-11) – 3rd place kata;

🥋 Anabel Atanasova (Youth Women 10-11) – 3rd place kata;

🥋 Georgi Balev (Youth Men) – 3rd place kumite -65 kg.

🥋 Lyubomir Yanev (Youth Men) lost in the qualifications.

Sensei Gergana Apostolova-Kostova, Sensei Zihni Hasanov, Sensei Tsvetelin Hristov, Senpai Zhivko Zhelev, Senpai Angel Chorbov, Senpai Zornitsa Kostova, and Senpai Valentin Zhelev participated as judges in the competition.

Shihan Emil Kostov was appointed by the Director of the International Department of IKO – Shihan Gorai, as the official observer of the competition.
