🥊The GLORY World organization officially announced Burgas as the host for the showdown between Badr Hari and Estonian Uku Jürjendal (19-8, 15 KO) from the Heavyweight Grand Prix series. The winner of this clash will qualify for the final in December. One of the greatest professional kickboxers of all time is coming to Bulgaria and the Balkans for the first time, enhancing Bulgaria’s image on the global kickboxing stage. The beloved athlete, admired by generations of combat sports fans and favored by King Mohammed VI of Morocco, arrives with his entourage, eager to achieve victory in Burgas and connect with Bulgaria, a country he has heard about from his friends in the training room.

✅ Initially, Badr Hari was scheduled to fight at GLORY 88 on September 9th in Paris but withdrew unexpectedly from his match with James Maxuwini as a gesture of solidarity following the devastating earthquake in Morocco.

Roby Timers, GLORY matchmaker:

“We are excited to provide a quick turnaround and bring Badr Hari back to the ring. Unfortunately, on this date, James Maxuwini cannot step into the ring. As a result of new negotiations, Uku Jürjendal will be the contender for the grand prize. This match will be filled with a lot of action.”

✅ The significant prize for the champion of the Heavyweight Grand Prix is half a million dollars. On the night of October 7th, in the “Arena Burgas,” another match from the heavyweight series will take place – between Levi Rigters and Marten Terpstra. With the Hari and Jürjendal match, the official fight card of GLORY 89 expands to 10 matches, making it one of the most significant events held in Europe.

✅ All fans of the legendary “Golden Boy” from the organization who bought tickets for GLORY 88 in Paris and missed seeing him in the ring are expected in “Arena Burgas.”
