As part of the initiative, prominent figures in Bulgarian sports share in specially recorded videos about their choice to dedicate their lives to sports, its driving force, and their path to success as accomplished personalities and athletes, as stated by the Ministry.
📌 “Sport builds unique qualities in us – it teaches us discipline, hard work, and to play fair. We gain self-confidence and assurance. That’s why I address all Bulgarians – find time to engage in sports because this is an investment in yourself,” calls on Minister of Youth and Sports Dimitar Iliev in a video published on the Ministry’s Facebook profile. Iliev also addresses the children, pointing out that now is the time to choose whether to stay in front of electronic devices or dedicate themselves to their favorite sport and one day become an example to follow, like our Olympic, world, and European titleholders who joined the “Sport is for Everyone” campaign. The Minister also emphasizes the significant role of parents in motivating their children to start training for a healthy and quality way of life.
📌 To improve access to opportunities for mass sports, Minister Iliev’s team is actively working on programs to create conditions for increasing physical activity and practicing sports, both for children and adults, the Ministry adds.
📜 This year, 237 projects by sports organizations under 7 programs and activities of the Ministry are being implemented, providing opportunities for over 100,000 children to engage in sports. It is also discussed to include an increase in annual funds for sports for children in kindergartens, for students in schools, and for students in universities in the 2024 budget. The “Sport is for Everyone” campaign will be constantly active within Minister Iliev’s mandate.
