Students and pupils have the opportunity to participate in the new competition organized by Burgas Free University “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov” – “The Science of the Future – Imagination and Software.”

This competition is a continuation of the “European Researchers’ Night” initiative, which generated exceptional interest at the end of September.

The competition begins on October 24th at 4:00 PM at the Center for Excellence in Information and Communication Technologies “UNITE,” with the support of the “K-TRIO” project and “UNITE.”

The higher education institution’s organizers have prepared a special award for the best software idea for energy efficiency.

The “K-TRIO” project is coordinated by Sofia University and is funded by the “Horizon Europe” program. Its main goal is to raise public awareness of the importance of scientific research and the work of scientists.

The “Researchers in the Triangle of Knowledge” (K-TRIO) project primarily aims to bring scientists and their work closer to the general public, thereby increasing people’s awareness of scientific activities and achievements and their impact on everyday life. This, in turn, should attract and motivate more young talents towards a scientific career. Specifically, in the long run, the project aims to encourage young people’s interest in the so-called STEM & Art (or adding art to STEM education) to foster a new culture of creativity, scientific curiosity, innovative spirit, and responsibility towards environmental conservation. It also seeks to enhance public readiness for engagement in citizen science, open science, and open innovation.

This would improve researchers’ opportunities to interact with children and students and participate in citizen science activities together with them. It would enhance the reputation and popularity of research teams and organizations and their contribution to economic and regional development.
