Українська🏀 The basketball team of “Chernomorets Burgas” is setting new ambitious goals before the start of the new season. The “Sharks” will aim to win the championship title and the national cup. This was announced at a press conference today by the club’s management, attended by Mayor Dimitar Nikolov.
🏀 Another important goal for “Chernomorets Burgas” is participation in the FIBA Cup, with qualifications to be held in Finland. There, the team coached by Vasil Evtimov will face a representative from the host country and a team from Sweden. In the next phase, the team that finishes first will continue.
📌 “We must give credit to this team; we want to be first. At the moment, this team is writing the new history of ‘Chernomorets.’ For several years, the club has been on an upward trajectory, and we hope to continue in this way,” said the president of BC “Chernomorets Burgas,” Vasil Stoyanov.
📌 “When I arrived in Burgas, I always wanted the team to win and to be a bit better than the previous season. In the last three years, this happened, so I want us to show the team spirit again this year, the spirit of a team that wants to win,” said coach Vasil Evtimov.
📌 “I hope to build on what our team has achieved so far. We work very hard, our first goal is to qualify for the FIBA Cup, which will be an exceptional success. This will give us the opportunity to play against some strong teams that will visit Burgas in the next phase of the tournament,” said Burgas captain Hristo Zahariev.
📌 “After the team won the silver medals last season, it brought immense pride and joy to the Burgas fans, whose numbers are increasing every month. This breakthrough in the championship provided an additional incentive for many Burgas children to start engaging in this beautiful sport. The club has the full support of the Municipality of Burgas. Recently, the allocation of additional funds was voted on before the end of the calendar year so that the club can smoothly pursue its goals,” said Mayor Dimitar Nikolov.
🏀 The official lineup of “Chernomorets Burgas” for the new season will be presented today at 5:00 PM in the “Boycho Branzov” hall. At 7:00 PM, the “Sharks” will play a friendly match against the team of “Cherno more Ticha” – Varna.
